My Freelander XEi (S503 AGR) was my first foray into the world of Land Rovers. An Epsom Green example, bought from Lex Land Rover in Stourbridge in the summer of 1999. PX against my trusty Ford Escort!

Modifications were: –

  • Valance mounted fog lights
  • Loadspace power socket
  • JE Engineering stainless steel exhaust
  • K&N air filter

Being a Rover K series engine it did, of course, suffer the ubiquitous head gasket problem! This was fixed by an excellent mechanic I know and I got off lightly only requiring a head skim and new gasket.

I owned this for about 5 years when I PXd it for a Td4 Kalahari SE.

Let us know if you’re the current owner.
