Defender 110 CSW (DY52 XUX)

This was my first Defender, bought new in late 2002 from Stafford Land Rover.

It was a 110 County Station Wagon in Epsom Green, one of the first batch with the newly designed centre console dash and one piece rear door. After a few initial teething problems (the usual leaks, poor paint finish etc.) it proved to be a reliable workhorse.

My modifications included an A-bar with Lightforce 170 Striker lamps, OEM chequer plate wing-tops and cills, extra rear speakers and tweeters and up-rated stereo, a map-light, JATE rings and finally, a GKN overdrive.

I kept this until April 2005, when I part-exchanged it for a new Defender 90 XS. In hindsight though, I should have stuck with the 110, but that’s another story….
